I’m Sandy Sanderson, I’m a research-based, experimental artist. My practice explores the intricate interplay between art, science, technology, philosophy, and ritual. My practice is rooted in the theory of relationality, a framework I’ve adopted to understand what “nature” is and how thin the boundaries are between the organic and synthetic. My approach is transdisciplinary, I utilize diverse media, including installation, sculpture, film, and new and traditional technologies, to articulate the awe and reverence I feel for Earth and the interconnectivity of natural systems.
My experience with chronic pain has moved my practice to prioritize concept, collaborative practices and the modality deep listening.
My works are an acknowledgment that we are always in conversation with the unseen forces that shape our reality. They invite contemplation and curiosity about our place within this vast living system of earth.
